Hometown Issaquah Reunion slated for Sept. 13

Community members are invited to the fifth annual Hometown Issaquah Reunion at the Issaquah Depot, 50 Rainier Blvd. N. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 13. In addition to a chance to meet other residents, former residents and descendants of pioneers, this year’s reunion will offer workshops for attendees to preserve their own personal history.

The “coffee and conversation” portion of the day, which is free, is from 11:45 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.

The event also offers access to the museum’s Issaquah Family Tree, and guests are asked to add information or make corrections where needed. Images will be on display and guests will be asked to help identify people and places in the photos.

Workshops will include:

• “Writing Your Memories,” from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Issaquah Depot. “Explore the relationship between big history and your individual life.”

• “Finding Your Family: Where did you come from? An introduction to genealogy,” 12:30 to 2 p.m. at Issaquah Valley Senior Center.

• “Preserving Photos and Heirlooms: Learn about the basics of preservation and how they apply to your own personal artifacts,” 2:30 to 4 p.m. at Issaquah Depot.
