Kiwanis seek nominations

The Kiwanis Club of Issaquah is seeking nominations for Volunteer of the Year, Environmental Person and Group of the Year, and Spiritual Values Person and Group of the Year.

Isabelle Allende to speak

Novelist and social activist Isabel Allende will speak at the YWCA Eastside Inspire Luncheon in Bellevue on Tuesday, March 17.

District election in March

King Conservation District will hold a public election for position No. 3 on the board of supervisors.

The election for the three-year term will be held March 19.

Double fines

The Washington State Patrol is reminding motorists that traffic fines in roadway construction zones are doubled.

Troopers will be out in full force enforcing D.U.I., speed, aggressive driving, and all other traffic laws in and around the highway construction zones.

Boating classes

A boating safety education class, taught by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Feb. 28, at Bellevue Fire Station 9, 12412 S.E. 69th Way. Information and registration are available by calling 425-885-0259 or at terryhooper@verizon.net.
