Eastlake bazaar benefits senior class

Handmade gifts, goodies and art pieces galore will be on sale next weekend at the 15th annual Eastlake High School Holiday Bazaar, which benefits the senior class sendoff party after graduation.
“It’s a really great way to kick off the holiday season and get excited,” said Mary Kayser, one of the co-chairs for this year’s event. “I just love to shop at it and I do a lot of Christmas shopping every year just as an attender. ... There’s a lot of really unique stuff.”
The bazaar will feature more than 85 artisans and crafters, offering up glass art, jewelry, children’s clothing, soft baby books and baby blankets, woodworking, yard art, bath and body items, holiday ornaments, purses, belts, silk scarves, candle holders, windchimes, candies, confections and other food items such as dips.
“To get into this bazaar, you have to be 100 percent handmade,” Kayser said. “We do jury all the vedors and try to keep the quality really high, but we also look at prices and try to keep them pretty reasonable.”
In addition to the items for sale, the event also includes a bake sale and a raffle featuring prizes donated by vendors. Admission is free; the PTSA earns money for the senior class through the vendor booth fees. The goal for this year’s proceeds is $8,000.
The bazaar booths will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8 in the commons and hall areas of Eastlake High School, 400 228th Ave. N.E.
