An estimated 17,000 people from all over the Puget Sound area chose to spend their Fourth of July on the Sammamish Commons.

Kim Bennett and Bill O’Brien, left, who were handing out water and balloons to appreciative visitors, were amongst the large crowd who enjoyed the fine weather and one of the most spectacular fireworks displays in the state. The lower commons area proved to be popular with families and children this year, while in the upper commons, adjacent to city hall, revelers were treated to a lineup of local music, including the hard rocking sounds of Sammamish’s own Experimental Reality. While the final numbers are still being tabulated, it is clear once again that the Fourth on the Plateau event is one of the most popular annual celebrations on the Eastside.
