Domestic violence
Police arrested a 35-year-old Sammamish man on May 14 in the 23800 block of Southeast Fifth Street for investigation of fourth degree domestic violence and interfering with a domestic violence report. According to police, the man had been drinking and his wife hid the car keys so that he couldn’t leave to buy more alcohol. The woman said that he grabbed her arm and twisted, and she gave him the keys. The following day the two argued about his drinking and he began yelling and twisted both arms behind her back, then pushed her down and took the phone away from her, the woman said. After fighting back, she got the phone from him and took their child upstairs, where she was able to call 911, a report said.
Brawl
Police were dispatched to a fight at an adult league soccer game at about 10:30 a.m. on May 18 at Eastlake High School, a report said. The caller said that more than 30 men were fighting after the end of a game between two teams called “El Acambato gto” and Burjah Insulation. Some of those involved in the fight had left by the time police arrived. According to witnesses and two referees, members of the El Acambato gto team became enraged because one of their players received a red card for rough play and was ejected from the game. The El Acambato gto players claimed that the other team started the fight, and claimed they were injured. They were treated at the scene for bruises to the head, face and legs.
Sparkler bomb
Two people at Sterling Apartments in the 1800 block of Trossachs Boulevard called police on the evening of May 23 after they heard a loud explosion. Police and witnesses determined that the explosion was a sparkler bomb that had been hidden under a rock. A tube made out of black electrician’s tape was recovered, and there was no damage to the surrounding area, a report said.
Residential burglaries
• A woman who lives in the 1500 block of 223rd Place Northeast told police on May 12 that she noticed a number of items missing in the past four years, and believes they have been stolen. The missing items include a gold necklace with a whale pendant worth $50, a Blackhills gold ring worth $50, an opal and diamond ring worth $50, a $500 Movado watch and a Social Security card. She said she decided to report the incidents after trying to open a new bank account and being informed that someone had tried to use her Social Security number to open an account.
• A woman who lives in the 26100 block of Southeast 27th Street told police on May 23 that she suspected a man who cleaned her carpets may have stolen some jewelry from her house. Reported missing were a white gold ring with three rows of diamonds worth $2,000, a yellow gold, round cut diamond ring with baguettes on the side worth $8,000, a large pink square-cut stone worth $5 and a ring with a light blue, oval stone and two rows of diamonds worth $500, according to a report.
• A purse and set of keys were stolen from an unlocked car in an open garage in the 19800 block of Southeast 29th Street, a woman told police on May 23. Inside the purse were a digital camera, cash, checkbook, credit cards, sunglasses and wallet, worth a total of about $485, the report said.
Mail theft
Residents in the 24000 block of Southeast 12th Place and in the 2800 block of 247th Avenue Southeast reported mail was stolen from boxes; some mail was strewn in the street.
