August 1, 2008 · Updated 9:00 AM
On Aug. 5 the Sammamish Police and Issaquah Police departments will each host annual National Night Out events.
Issaquah’s event will be at City Hall from 5:30-8:30 p.m.; the Sammamish event will begin with a central party at Sammamish City Hall from 1 to 4 p.m., then individual block party associations will hold their own events in the evening hours.
The Issaquah event features prizes, food and informational booths including information on emergency preparedness to home and car security products.
Issaquah police will also be fingerprinting kids for ID kits; a mobile shredding service will be accepting and destroying documents for free to protect against identity theft. For more information, contact the Issaquah police department at 837-3200.
In Sammamish, there will be a visit from MacDuff the crime dog, police equipment demonstrations, information on block watch, domestic violence and false alarms, as well as a band for kids. For more information, call Sammamish Police at 295-0770.
