The 5th Legislative District Democrats will host a discussion of transportation issues during a forum Aug. 28 featuring Washington Secretary of Transportation Paula Hammond.

The event is scheduled for 7 to 9 p.m. at Beaver Lake Lodge and is open to all voters in the 5th District. That includes independents, Republicans, Libertarians and Democrats, according to Phyllis Huster, a Democrat running for state Senate. RSVP to www.5thdems.org/, dsell@gte.net or with Huster at (425) 736-6644.

The format for the forum will mostly be question-and-answer, to involve voters and give them contact with Hammond.
