The Issaquah School District will host a meeting about education finances at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23, at the Administration Building.

Jennifer Priddy, the assistant superintendent of Fiscal Services for the state’s Superintendent of Public Instruction, will give a comprehensive “Financial Outlook” presentation, which outlines some of the problems facing the public education system now and in the future. Following, local legislators on the Basic Education Finance Joint Task Force, Reps. Glenn Anderson and Ross Hunter, will speak about their statewide school funding proposal coming out in December to address the deficits. The Task Force has been working for more than a year to redefine “basic education” and develop an appropriate funding mechanism for public education. The audience can ask questions after each presenter.

The administration building is at 565 N.W. Holly St.
