Dance and drill teams from 11 area schools, some from as far afield as Ballard, took to the Eastlake High School gymnasium on Saturday, March 7, for the King County District 2 Dance and Drill Championship. Perhaps the home court advantage helped the Eastlake students, who won both the ‘Pom’ and ‘Dance and Kick’ sections to be named overall winner on the day. Traditional powerhouse Lake Washington High School won the ‘Drill’ section, and will be one of the schools joining Eastlake at the state championships at the Sundome in Yakima on March 28.
