Spartans advance to state semis

The Skyline soccer team advanced to the 4A state semifinals Saturday, beating Bellarmine Prep 1-0 at Spartan Stadium.

Shea O’Donnell booted in the game-winning goal in the 32nd minute via an assist from Michelle Bretl.

The Spartans out-shot the Lions 9-5 for the contest. Goalkeeper Jill Stika recorded the shutout.

Skyline faces Mead of Spokane in the class 4A semifinals at 8 p.m., Friday at Harry Lang Stadium in Lakewood. If the Spartans win, they will face Jackson or Woodinville for the state championship at 8 p.m. on Saturday in Lakewood. If they lose, they will face Jackson or Woodinville in the third and fourth place game at 2 p.m.
