Awards keep stacking up for Skyline quarterback Jake Heaps.
The junior, who led the Spartans to their second consecutive state championship and a 28-0 record over two years, was named the 2008 Associated Press Washington Player of the Year late last week.
Heaps earned all but three votes, to gain the honor. He was also named the Class 4A Player of the Year but the AP.
The highly-sought after recruit has been labeled the top quarterback prospect for the class of 2010 by several national media outlets. According to Rivals.com, he has 15 major universities interested in him, with 13 scholarship offers on the table. The University of Washington, Notre Dame, Stanford and UCLA are among the schools listed as offering scholarships. Heaps threw for 2,888 yards and 38 touchdowns his junior year. He only had four interceptions.
