Issaquah soccer makes history tonight, KingCo softball tournament swings into action

The Issaquah boys soccer program will make history at 7 p.m., today when it plays its first state playoff game, hosting Rogers of Puyallup.
Issaquah reached the 16-team state tournament by defeating Evergreen of Vancouver, 2-1, Saturday on the road. The Eagles earned the victory when Lucas Morias scored two minutes into overtime. Conner Holmes scored in the 43rd minute for Issaquah, which moved to 12-5-2.
Rogers enters tonight's contest with a 14-2-2 overall record. The winner of tonight's game will take to the road Saturday to face the winner of Marysville-Pilchuck–Gig Harbor.
KingCo 4A softball tourney gets underway
Three local teams will swing into post-season softball action this afternoon in the first round of the KingCo 4A tournament. Issaquah, the No. 2 seed from the KingCo Crest, will face Roosevelt, the No. 5 seed from the Crown, at 4 p.m. at IHS. Third-seeded Eastlake will host Inglemoor at 4 p.m., and fifth-seeded Skyline plays at 4 p.m. at Bothell. The double-elimination tournament continues Wednesday through Friday at Hartman Park in Redmond.
