Hundreds of Sammamish citizens joined in the fun of Safe and Sound Sammamish Tuesday night — part of the annual National Night Out.

Free hot dogs, performances by Portland-based Circus Cascadia and an appearance by the King County Sheriff’s Office helicopter Guardian One highlighted the evening focused on police-community partnership and crime prevention awareness.

“It’s growing every year,” organizer Dawn Sanders said. “We try to have good a lot of things for the kids. I think what they like most is crawling through the trucks and seeing the police officers and the fire trucks.”

Issaquah also held its own Night Out event outside of City Hall.

Approximately 1,200 neighbors across Western Washington participated.
