High fire risk in Sammamish, Issaquah

September 10, 2012 · 11:33 AM

The region's hot and dry weather has firefighters on alert in Sammamish and Issaquah this week. The hot and dry weather could create potentially dangerous fire hazards in the weeks to come.

Eastside Fire and Rescue is asking residents to be careful with fire and to obey any burn bans. About 7 of 10 fires are human caused.

It's so dry that during a recent North Bend fire, firefighters were not only concerned on saving the structure, but also preventing the fire from spreading to surrounding forests.
