Bonjour! Issaquah Rotary seeks family to host French exchange student

The Rotary Club of Issaquah announced that it will sponsor a foreign exchange student from France for the next school year. The student will be Jean Bourdonnais, 16, of Nantes, France. Jean will attend Skyline High School, so the Rotary Club is seeking host families in that attendance area. Host families are being sought for 3-4 months each, so that Jean can experience life in the US with different families as part of his cultural exchange. The Rotary Club will support Jean with an allowance and help coordinate activities with the host families. Jean enjoys basketball and reading, speaks English well, and hopes to get a more global perspective on life by participating in Rotary’s Youth Exchange program. He’s enthusiastic and looking forward to his year in Issaquah. Interested families are asked to contact Craig Nelsen at 206-419-7777 for more information. Families are also encouraged to ask about outbound exchanges in which Issaquah students spend a school year (or a summer) as an exchange student in one of more than 30 countries Rotary offers. The Rotary Youth Exchange Program is one of the largest student exchange groups, with connections in more than 100 countries and thousands of clubs reaching every continent.
