The Issaquah Police department is hosting National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 3 on the steps outside City Hall from 5 to 7 p.m. Residents are invited to come by to learn about emergency preparedness and outdoor safety, get their children fingerprinted for identification kits, and have sensitive-information documents shredded for free. The goal of National Night Out events is to heighten awareness of crime and drug prevention, and to support local crime prevention efforts. More than 36 million people are expected to attend similar events across the country. For more information on the local celebration, contact the Issaquah Police Department at 425-837-3200.
