Chinese New Year
December 19, 2011 · Updated 9:11 AM
Sponge invites families to a free cultural event on Feb. 6 at its center in Issaquah, celebrating the Chinese Lantern Festival. Signifying the end of the Chinese New Year, the festival is celebrated with people lighting lanterns all over the country, and will feature an array of arts and crafts projects for kids and an opportunity for families to sample tasty dumplings. Native-speaking teachers from Sponge will offer New Year-themed mini language classes in Mandarin, Spanish, French and Japanese.
