Art of ancient healing back on the radar

While reflexology may feel wonderful, it does so much more than simply relax you, and make your feet feel great.

While reflexology may feel wonderful, it does so much more than simply relax you, and make your feet feel great. It can definitely improve the wellbeing of your feet, and reduce or eliminate foot pain, but there is a very complex system of reflexes at work too.

Reflexology is an ancient system of healing that is becoming very popular, coming to the forefront of alternative healing.

It is one of the fastest growing complimentary health care modalities in the U.S., and many people are adding this healing art to their health maintenance routines.

Reflexology is unique in that it is completely non-invasive and assists the body in healing itself. The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) reports that more than 42 percent of Americans use alternative medicine to address their health and wellness concerns.

Instead of only treating problems seemingly related to the physical body, reflexology is a holistic therapy which balances body, mind, and spirit, and opens the healing potential within each person.

The body has a tremendous capacity to heal itself, and reflexology acts as a catalyst to encourage healing to take place. It works by stimulating pressure points on the feet, hands, or ears to produce a neuro-biochemical response of the target organ, gland, tissue, muscle, or system in the body. The effect is that the body is encouraged to return to homeostasis, its innate rhythmic level of function.

By getting reflexology treatments regularly you will be promoting health and wellness in body, mind, and spirit. Issues like stress, sleep problems, pains, headaches, and hormone imbalances (just to name a few) can be reduced or eliminated with reflexology.
