The Rotary Club of Issaquah was pleased to announce its Student of the Month awardees at their weekly meeting at Tibbetts Creek Manor on Tuesday. President-Elect Carl Peterson stood in for student liaison Janet Barry in praising not just the academic achievements of the students, but also their commitment to extra-curricular activities and community service. This month's Student of the Month awardees were Christian Chevalier and Dennis Chang from Issaquah High School, and Christie Hester and Montessa Califano from Liberty High School. Although each of the students were heralded for excellence in a range of areas, from math and creative writing, to badminton, automotive mechanics and softball, what was common to all students was their contribution to the community outside of school hours. The Reporter joins Rotary in applauding the efforts of these exceptional young men and women.
