A 14-year-old boy sustained non-life threatening injuries July 6 when he was struck by a vehicle crossing 228th Avenue in front of Sammamish City Hall.

The car collided with the boy at 2:48 p.m., resulting in the closure of southbound lanes of 228th until about 6 p.m.

According to Sammamish Police Administrative Sergeant Jessica Sullivan, the boy, who was transported to Harborview Medical Center, sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries to his arm.

Detectives from the King County Sheriff's Office Major Accident Response and Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene.

The case is still under investigation.  Alcohol was not a factor with the driver of the vehicle.
