Issaquah History Museums is celebrating its 40th anniversary in Issaquah October 13 with a free event for the public.
In addition to a short lecture on the organization's past and present, the group plans to bake cakes from historic recipes and host live fiddle music.
The event will be held at the Issaquah Depot, 150 1st Avenue Northeast, at 11 a.m. While it's free, organizers are asking people to RSVP at email@example.com or 425-392-3500.
Founded by 32 residents, the organization has since grown to about 300 members. Its goal is to catalog the area's past and present, preserving photos and artifacts.
“Part of what makes Issaquah so special is our fascinating history,” said Mayor Ava Frisinger. “Our community is extremely lucky to have such a wonderful group of people at the Issaquah History Museums to help us preserve, research, and remember the past.”
