The tractor on a FedEx truck burst into flames on State Route 18 near Tiger Mountain, killing the 60-year-old driver.

The man was driving Westbound, when his truck veered off the road Sept. 21. It crashed into a tree about 20 feet from the curb and broke into flames. It was almost entirely consumed by the fire around 6 a.m.

The two trailers the tractor was hauling didn't catch fire. FedEx has retrieved them. Police are still investigating the incident, but believe there could have been a medical reason for the crash.
