Renton man shoots man in Renton, former mother-in-law in Issaquah; found dead in car

The manhunt for a 48-year-old Renton man suspected of shooting a man in Renton and a woman near Issaquah ended Saturday when sheriff’s deputies located the suspect inside his vehicle Saturday evening on Martin Luther King Jr. Way, dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.
Earlier, the Renton Police Department asked for the public’s assistance in locating John McKay, 48, of Renton, who was reported driving a black 2011 Aveo with Oregon license plates 025FJQ. He was found inside that car near the 13000 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way in Skyway after sheriff’s deputies had received a tip at about 8:30 p.m.
At about 2:25 p.m. Saturday Renton Police responded to a report of shots fired in the 4100 block of Northeast Fifth Street. An adult male was transported to Harborview Medical Center with critical injuries, and two adults were taken to Valley Medical Center to be treated for injuries after being “pistol whipped," or hit by a handgun, according to Renton Police. The victims are known to McKay and were targeted by him, according to police
Information provided at the scene indicated that McKay might be going next to Issaquah. Sheriff’s deputies were alerted at about 2:30 p.m. to be on the look out for McKay’s vehicle.
Just before 3 p.m. sheriff’s deputies received a call of a shooting in the 13400 block of 209th Avenue Southeast in unincorporated King County near Issaquah. Deputies found McKay’s former mother-in-law, 67, had been shot multiple time.
Detectives said McKay had kicked in her front door, chased her through the house and shot her as she ran into the back yard. Her condition wasn't released.
