It was a big weekend for local athletes — in some cases record-breaking. Skyline's Andie Taylor set a new state record in the 200 IM at the 2A/4A state swim meet, finishing in a time of 1 minute, 58.23 seconds. Eastlake freshman Katie Kinnear also claimed a state title in the 100 butterfly in a career-best 54.37 seconds. To check out our story on the swim meet, click here. Four area football teams, Eastside Catholic, Liberty, Issaquah and Skyline, advanced to the state quarterfinals. For our story about the Skyline-Federal Way game, click here. The Skyline soccer team moved on to the state semifinals, and Issaquah and Eastside Catholic tuned up before state volleyball appearances.
