Chamber gets its man

The Issaquah Chamber of Commerce’s search for a Chief Executive Officer is over. The chamber recently announced the hiring of Matthew Bott to fill their vacant CEO position. “I am very excited to join the leadership team at the Chamber,” Bott said. “I look forward to working with the business community and local leaders as we continue to support and promote Issaquah as an outstanding community to live in and conduct business.” Bott brings a great deal of prior experience selling membership, which will be critical in this leadership role, according to a chamber press release issued last week. “I think I can speak for the entire search committee when I say that we’re excited about the expertise and potential that Matthew will bring to the position,” said Issaquah Chamber Board Chair Bob Ittes. Bott recently moved to Seattle from Washington D.C. His previous experience includes six years as assistant Executive Director for the Kappa Sigma Fraternity International headquarters. He has also been involved in the non-profit industry for about seven years. Bott recently completed a Masters in Business Administration from the George Washington University where he studied marketing and strategy. Outgoing Issaquah Chamber Board Chair, Larry Ishmael, had been filling the CEO position in an interim role over the past few months.
