Four Issaquah middle-schoolers heading to state Geographic Bee

Four Issaquah School District middle schoolers recently qualified for the Washington State Geographic Bee, and will be competing at Stadium High School in Tacoma Saturday, April 3.
The students are: Alex Escobar, an eighth-grader at Beaver Lake Middle School; Wesley Esko, a sixth-grader at Pine Lake Middle School; John Park, a seventh-grader at Issaquah Middle School; and Michael Shaw, an eighth-grader at Maywood Middle School.
The winner of the state Geographic Bee will receive $100 and a trip to the national finals at the National Geographic Society Headquarters in Washington, D.C. on May 19 and 20.
The winner of that competition will receive a $25,000 college scholarship.
