Delays on I-90, 520 next week

Washington State Department of Transportation crews will close lanes and ramps on SR 520 and I-90 next week. Drivers should plan for possible delays and detours at night next week as crews close lanes and ramps between Seattle and Bellevue. The work is part of a project to install sign bridges that will hold new electronic signs to display variable speed limits, lane status and real-time traffic information. SR 520 closures • Monday, Jan. 4 through to the morning of Wednesday, Jan. 6: Crews will close the eastbound SR 520 off-ramp to Lake Washington Boulevard nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. to drill and place bolts for sign bridges. • Monday, Jan. 4 through to the morning of Thursday, Jan. 7: Crews will close the on-ramp from 124th Avenue NE to westbound SR 520 nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. to place bolts for a sign bridge. • Monday, Jan. 4 through to the morning of Friday, Jan. 8: Crews will intermittently close up to two lanes in both directions of SR 520 between 76th Avenue NE and 116th Avenue NE nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. to place guardrail and perform electrical work. I-90 closures • Monday, Jan. 4 through to the morning of Friday, Jan. 8: Crews will intermittently close up to two lanes in both directions of I-90 between the floating bridge mid-span and Bellevue Way nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. to drill shafts and place concrete for sign bridge foundations. • Monday, Jan. 4 through to the morning of Thursday, Jan. 7: Crews will close the on-ramp from Bellevue Way to westbound I-90 nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. to drill shafts and place concrete for sign bridge foundations. • Monday, Jan. 4 through to the morning of Thursday, Jan. 7: Crews will close the HOV on ramp from Bellevue Way to westbound I-90 nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. to drill shafts and place concrete for sign bridges foundations. • Tuesday, Jan. 5 through to the morning of Friday, Jan. 8: Crews will close the off ramp from eastbound I-90 to Bellevue Way nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. to drill shafts and place concrete for sign bridge foundations. • Thursday, Jan. 7: Crews will close the westbound I-90 transit lane (Rainier Avenue to Airport Way) from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. to drill shafts for a sign bridge.
