Missing Issaquah mountain biker found with head injuries

At just after 1 a.m. this morning, Issaquah Police and King County Search and Rescue found a missing mountain biker who had suffered head injuries after a fall.
The drama began on Sunday evening at about 9 p.m., when Issaquah Police were advised of a missing, 41-year-old, male, mountain biker who was last heard from as he was mountain biking near Lake Tradition on the Highpoint Trail Head.
According to a press release from Issaquah Police this morning, a couple who had been hiking in the area had located the bikers’ cell phone on the trail and were able to call a friend of the missing man.
When the subject did not return home the police were contacted.
Issaquah Police conducted a preliminary search of the Lake Tradition trail area and requested the assistance of King County Search and Rescue.
At 1:16 a.m. the missing biker was located just off a steep trail, west of Lake Tradition, by members of King County Search and Rescue.
The biker had suffered head injuries in a fall from his bike and was transported by Eastside Fire and Rescue to Overlake Hospital in Bellevue.
