Foreclosure assistance

U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) has been successful in including funding in 2011 for the Senate Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development (THUD) Appropriations bill to help families in Washington state and across the country who are suffering in the current foreclosure crisis. The bill includes $225 million for housing counseling efforts, such as foreclosure prevention activities, about $3 million for continuing mortgage rescue scam public education, and $10 million to target enforcement against mortgage rescue scams.
