Intruder enters apartment, says, “Hey,” walks out | Issaquah Police Blotter Jan. 13-19

The blotter consists of officers’ accounts of crimes and other incidents in the city of Issaquah. Persons arrested are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

Jan. 13

JUST WANTED TO SAY HEY: A woman from the 1600 block of 16th Lane NE told police at 5:56 that an unknown subject had just entered her unlocked apartment. A person about five-foot-six-inches tall in dark clothing walked in the door, said, “Hey,” and then walked back out. The caller did not get a good-enough look to tell if the uninvited guest was male or female.

Jan. 14

YOU’RE JOKING: A person called police at 2:01 p.m. to report a woman who had been drinking beer while driving. Police found the woman at the Joker Pub, located at the intersection of Southeast 56th Street and East Lake Sammamish Parkway. The woman denied that she had been drinking alcohol while driving.

Jan. 15

THAT’S HARASSMENT IN HER BOOK: A customer at a cafe in the 100 block of Front St. S. called police at 4:02 p.m. after a male had been pestering her and trying to get her to read his book. Police arrived at the location and spoke with an employee.

Jan. 16

THE PAPARAZZI AT IT AGAIN: A resident of the 2400 block of NW Harmony Way reported to police at 4:04 p.m. that on two recent occasions, people have driven by her house and taken photos. She had not written down the license plates of the mysterious photographers. Police asked her to call if it happened again so that the driver could be contacted.

Jan. 17

POSSIBLE PACKAGE THIEF: A person called police at 11:33 a.m. to report a possible package thief stalking a Fed Ex truck. He said that around 10 a.m., he saw a white car with two males in it stop behind a Fed Ex truck in the 4200 block of 182nd Ave. SE. A passenger got out of the car and walked around the street, perhaps looking for deliveries to steal. The two people left in the car and there were no reported losses.

UPSTAIRS, DOWNSTAIRS: A resident of the 200 block of Mountain Park Blvd. SW reported at 9:48 p.m. that her downstairs neighbor is always banging on her floor trying to get her to be quiet. The caller told police that she feels the tension rising and she does not want things to get any worse. Police responded that this was a civil issue but advised that she look into getting an anti-harassment order at the district courthouse if she feels it becomes needed.

Jan. 19

REGULARLY DRUNK: Two intoxicated subjects were reported to be hanging around the Front Street Market in the 100 block of Front St. S. at 7:53 p.m. Police spoke to the manager, who said that there had been a couple of regular customers in the business, but that they had since gone away.

IF YOU PLAY WITH FIRE: Police received a report at 8:23 p.m. of juveniles starting fires near the bridge in the 200 block of NW Dogwood St. Police patrolled the area, but did not find any fires.

EXTRA RARE STEAK: At 8:36 p.m., there were reported to be bloody footprints outside of a butcher shop in the 100 block of Front St. N. Police said that it was due to a medical call and requested that Public Works clean it up.
