Residents report locked mailboxes pried open | Sammamish Police Blotter Feb. 6 – Feb. 12

The blotter consists of Sammamish police officers’ accounts of crimes and other incidents in the city. Persons arrested are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

Jan. 24

MINOR IN POSSESSION: At 10:24 p.m., police received a report regarding a student possessing drugs at Skyline High School. The student was later found to be in possession of alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a knife on school grounds.

Jan. 29

PARTY LEFTOVERS: At 4:05 p.m., a Sammamish resident turned in to police marijuana paraphernalia found in their backyard. While out of town, the resident’s daughter had thrown a house party. Upon returning, the resident found a black duffle bag containing marijuana and paraphernalia just outside their sliding glass door leading to the yard.

Feb. 6

MARRIAGE AIN’T EASY: At 11:15 p.m., police received a report of assault in the 27100 block of SE 22nd Way. A woman reportedly walked into the residence, assaulted her husband and then left.

Feb. 7

ASSAULT: At 4 p.m., police received a report of a verbal altercation involving a man and a woman that turned physical in the 400 block of E. Lake Sammamish Parkway SE. The man reportedly choked the woman for several seconds.

DUI: At 10:57 p.m., a driver stopped at the corner of Northeast 8th Street and 228th Avenue Northeast was arrested for a DUI. The driver was in possession of an open container and was found to be driving without their ignition interlock device.

Feb. 8

NOT REALLY HIRING: At 10:03 a.m., a resident in the 2100 block of 192nd Ave. SE had contacted an online website for a job search. The resident was then contacted by someone claiming to be hiring for a company. A check was sent to the resident with instructions to cash the check and send back the funds via MoneyGram.

SMASH AND GRAB: At 10:30 a.m., a resident in the 1200 block of 224th Place NE reported their vehicle had been broken into and their debit card and cash were stolen from the center console.

UNLOCKED CAR PROWL: At 5:34 p.m., a resident in the 900 block of 221st Ave. NE reported their unlocked vehicle had been prowled overnight and their registration and insurance had been taken.

Feb. 9

UNLOCKED CAR PROWL: At 10:38 a.m., a resident in the 900 block of 224th Ave. NE reported their unlocked vehicle was prowled and a GPS was taken.

Feb. 10

PACKAGE THEFT: At 2:39 p.m., police received a report of a package theft in the 19800 block of SE 29th St. A gold SUV was spotted.

Feb. 12

MAIL THEFT: At 10 a.m., police received a report of mail theft in the 4900 block of 242nd Ave. SE. Locking mailboxes had reportedly been pried open. A similar report was made at 11:35 a.m. in the 21400 block of NE 6th St. Three locking mailboxes were pried open, with one experiencing loss.
