VICKIE LAVERNE (HOUSEHOLDER) BARR

Vickie LaVerne (Householder) Barr passed away from cardiac arrest following surgery on March 14, 2018, while visiting her parents in Mexico.

Vickie was born on March 26, 1960, in Kirkland, Washington. At the age of six, she moved to Tiger Mountain with her family. She attended Clark Elementary and Issaquah Junior High, graduating from Issaquah High School in 1978.

Vickie went to work for Issaquah Travel in 1985 and quickly became arguably the best travel agent in Issaquah. She was equally adept at both corporate and leisure travel, and she had many dedicated clients. She not only survived but excelled during the turbulent years in the travel industry when the internet became a force and the airlines and tour companies reduced or eliminated their commission structure. In 2016, she moved to AAA Travel and continued to excel.

Vickie is survived by her parents, Merilyn and Neil Householder of Issaquah; two brothers, Christopher (Gerri) Householder of St. Joseph, MO, and Alan (Karen) Beckman Householder of Renton; seven nieces and nephews; and four great nieces and nephews.

Family, friends, and others whose lives Vickie touched are invited to a celebration of her life on Sunday, June 10, from 1-4 pm at Tibbetts Creek Manor, 750 17th Ave NW, Issaquah. Those who wish to make a donation may do so in her name at the Issaquah Food Bank.
