‘Yes’ on I-1240, charter schools | Editorial
October 18, 2012 · Updated 10:56 AM
Few things are more important than education. Our children’s’ futures – and ours, too – hangs in the balance.
So, how do we know that what we’re giving them is the best. Initiative 1240 – charter schools – can help us find out.
Under I-1240, a total of 40 charter schools – public schools with the same academic standards and teacher requirements as other public schools – would be allowed to see if education can be delivered to students in a better way.
Forty-one other states already allow this, giving parents another educational option for their children. Our state should step up and help our children, too.
Our children need all the educational options they can get to be successful. Vote “yes” on I-1240.
