I’m looking for your support in completing my Eagle Project. My project is sponsored by Operation Homefront Washington, one of the largest non-profit organizations in the state that helps support wounded soldiers. Operation Homefront is a nonprofit organization that was founded after 9/11. Its mission is to help wounded soldiers of all branches of the military and their families. The majority of these were serving in Iraq when they were wounded. Operation Homefront Washington supplies them with Assignment Recovery and Comfort (ARC) Kits. ARC Kits help the soldiers recover by containing items that are necessities. Here’s the list of items I’ll be collecting to make the kits: men’s boxer briefs (medium and large); women’s underwear (medium and large); socks; robes (large, medium, or one-size-fits-all); small quilts, lap blankets, or small fleece blankets; toothpaste (regular size); toothbrush; men’s and women’s deodorant; shampoo; body lotion (gender neutral); body soap (gender neutral); chapstick (gender neutral); mouthwash; combs; brushes (small); razors; non-canned shaving gel/shaving cream; tampons; decks of cards; crossword puzzle/sudoku books; postage stamps; phone cards; snack size beef jerky; snack size crackers and cheese; snack size fruit candy; snack size fruit roll-ups; snack size chips The goal of this Eagle Project is to collect enough items to create 100 kits. I will be collecting items through September at St. Judes Parish in Redmond. Items can be dropped off before or after service times or between Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Collections will also run throughout September at local retailers. For more information or to donate to my Eagle Project, please call 425-898-1465. Or, for more information on this worthy cause, please follow this link to a brief video I prepared at www.troop751.com. Thanks in advance for your support. - Luke Ellis Sammamish
