Thank you for reporting on the Basic Education Funding Presentation to the Lake Washington School Board. I was among the many in attendance and found it inspiring to see Representatives Glenn Anderson, Ross Hunter, and Senator Rodney Tom working together in a bi-partisan effort to solve the funding crisis plaguing our education system. Many of other attendees I spoke to and I were very impressed with their comprehensive yet reasonable plan, and their high level of commitment to fix the broken system. In today’s competitive global economy, the quality of our children’s education is more important than ever. Our children’s futures and our state economy depend on it. We simply can’t afford to underfund it. We in the 5th district need to keep dedicated legislators like Glenn Anderson in office to continue championing the cause of making education funding our paramount duty, as the state constitution requires. -Julie Wright Sammamish
