Marine Corps says a warm thank you
December 19, 2011 · Updated 8:28 AM
Last December, the Marine Corps League of Puget Sound teamed with the Issaquah Masons in a last-minute toy drive to support the Marine Corps Reserve 4th Landing Support Battalion Annual Toys For Tots Program.
The 4th LSB had just returned from deployment and were struggling to ramp up this year.
On behalf of the U.S. Marine Corps League and Marine Corps Reserve, I heartfully thank the Issaquah Reporter for publicising this drive, the Masons for providing their hall for collection and toy storage, and especially the citizens of Issaquah who came by and donated toys during those three short days.
With your help, the Marine Corps League delivered approximately $30,000 worth of toys to the 4th LSB on December 20 (in the snow), literally doubling the toys the Marines had on hand for the area’s children.
Your generosity warmed us greatly in the sub-freezing weather.
To the people of Issaquah — our heartfelt thanks for your outstanding support.
