Below is a letter the Mayor of Chefchoauen, Mr. Mohamed Sefiani, sent to Issaquah Mayor Ava Frisinger, the City Council, the Sister Cities Commission and the residents of Issaquah, thanking everyone for the experience he had in Issaquah during Salmon Days.
Dear Friends,
First of all, thank you to Ava, Mayor of Issaquah, for the warm welcome she gave me and for her will to improve our two cities relationship, and thanks also to all the members on the City Council of Issaquah.
I also want to thank the members of the Sister Cities Commission for their special welcome, their hospitality and the very nice job they are doing to link our two cities.
I also want to thank Robin Kelley and her team who planned several activities for our Moroccan artisans at the Salmon Days Festival. The event was a great success. Congratulations to the entire city of Issaquah!
Finally, and this is the reality, I felt like I was in my own city with my sisters, my brothers and many of my good friends! The experience touched me deeply. I am sure that our relationship will be long lasting and further improved! Thank you again and see you soon in Chefchaouen!
Mohamed Sefiani
Mayor of Chefchaouen
