Reichert makes the same old noise
December 19, 2011 · Updated 9:06 AM
A recent editorial by Rep. Reichert (“Liability reform the key ...” The Reporter, Dec. 11) was full of misinformation.
It was nothing more than repetition of Republican National Committee talking points, trying to deflect from their do nothing, no solutions, road block position against any meaningful health care reform.
He targets $5.4 billion a year out of $3 trillion spending and claims this as a solution to reduce the cost?
There are people injured and disabled for life requiring special care for the rest of their lives from these mistakes, and they should be denied their right to seek monies for their care to save mere pennies in the big picture?
As long as insurance executives continue to make $120 million per year and the system is based on 30 percent profits there will be no real solutions to reduce costs.
If the Representative was really focused on saving us all money he would take the profit out of our health care insurance system, that alone would mean $900 billion in savings a year.
That would be a real cost savings to the Representative’s constituents.
