Trio of EC athletes earn medals

Three Eastside Catholic School students won medals at the Washington Regional Special Olympics swim meet in Federal Way recently.

Megan Mills (Sammamish) captured four gold medals in the pool while Alyssa Helms and Alina Hitchings (Issaquah) both brought home silver and bronze medals.

Michelle Jay of Sammamish will be headed to South Korea to represent Team USA in the World Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea at the beginning of 2013.

Jay is one of five athletes who will represent Washington after capturing a gold medal in cross country skiing at the Washington State Winter Games.

Athletes will continue to train locally as well as attend a World Games training camp in November before departing for PyeongChang with the rest of Team USA next January.
