Tennis players from Newport, Issaquah and Redmond high schools are headed to the national championships at the U18 level of the USTA after winning the Pacific Northwest title over a team from Mercer Island.

Newport's Dylan Harlow, along with 2012 grads Rixing Xu, Chris Lilley and Alec Tsutsumoto, were joined by Samantha Garrard (Issaquah) and Kana Moriyama (Redmond) to form the team, which competes out of Bellevue's Robinswood Tennis Center.

Lilley and Harlow finished the prep season by taking third place in the 4A boys doubles tournament, beating Tsutsumoto and Andrew Choi in the third place match. Garrard also earned a place at state, finishing in sixth with Kelsey Wilson in the 4A girls doubles bracket.

The 18U national championships are in Columbia, South Carolina in October.
