UPDATE: Lakeside Baseball Club finished the American Legion World Series in third place after falling to Brooklawn, N.J. for the second time in the tournament, 4-3.
Coach Rob Reese's Lakeside Baseball Club 18U squad is one of only four remaining at the American Legion World Series in Shelby, N.C., and will face a team from New Orleans with a spot in the championship game on the line Monday.
After notching 14 base hits in an 11-5 win over Moline, Ill. in its first round game, Lakeside went 10 innings with Brooklawn, N.J. before falling 3-2.
Issaquah's Brandon Mahovlich made sure his team would remain in the tournament for at least another day in the following game, taking a no-hitter into the fifth inning and tossing a complete game shutout in a 4-1 win over Lakewood, Calif.
