The Skyline football team was recognized by another national poll on Monday. The Spartans were ranked No. 17 nationally and No. 4 in the West Coast Region in a preseason poll released by PrepNation.com. (Click here to see the ranking.) The Web site claims to have the first official “human poll” to be released before the high school football season. The National Prep Football Poll is compiled by Jamie DeMoney, a member of the Football Writers Association of America, with input from other sports writers, experts, and coaches. Skyline is the only team from Washington state recognized in the top 25. Trinity of Euless, Texas was the top-ranked team in the country. Bellevue was the only other team from Washington to be ranked in the West Coast Region poll at No. 17. Sheldon of Eugene, Ore. is ranked No. 19 in the West. Skyline faces Sheldon at 8 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 6 at PGE Park in Portland. De La Salle High School of Concord, Calif. had the top ranking in the West.
