Marsh resigns as Eastside Catholic football coach

Eastside Catholic announced Thursday that Bill Marsh will resign his position as head football coach, yet remain as the Associate Athletic Director for the school.
Marsh, who has been with Eastside Catholic's football program for 15 years, started his coaching career under the tutelage of Chuck Tarbox. He took over as head coach of Eastside Catholic when Tarbox retired in 1999.
"Bill has an enormous role in the Eastside Catholic community and has been a significant figure in the history and success of our football program. His players think the world of him," Eastside Catholic President Jim Kubacki said, in a release.
Eastside Catholic Athletic Director Lance Gatter announced that the search process for replacing Marsh will start immediately.
"We will aggressively seek a coach who will continue to move our program successfully forward while keeping a commitment to teaching the values we espouse at Eastside Catholic," he said, in a release.
Marsh had a 68-34 overall record for the Crusaders and brought the team to two state quarterfinal appearances — once in 2006, and again in 2008. This past season, Eastside Catholic went 10-2 while winning its first Metro title since 1993. Marsh was named Metro Mountain Division coach of the year for the fifth time in his career.
