December 19, 2011 · Updated 8:31 AM
The Skyline football program announced Wednesday afternoon it has hired Steve Chmiel as its new defensive coordinator.
Chmiel has 17 years of coaching experience. He was the defensive coordinator for Eastside Catholic the last six seasons, and helped the Crusaders reach their first Metro League Championship in 15 years this past season, under recently resigned head coach Bill Marsh.
Chmiel will work under second-year head coach Mat Taylor at Skyline. He takes over for Chad Barrett, who accepted the head coach position at Bonney Lake High School.
