Issaquah Silver lacrosse team takes Battle of Bothell

One Issaquah lacrosse team walked away with a championship last weekend and another finished second during the fifth annual Battle of Bothell.
The IYL Silver 5/6 team won their division championship and the Issaquah Lacrosse Club Purple (the Issaquah High School team) claimed second place in the high school division, falling to Lake Oswego in the tournament championship.
The IYL Silver team, also known as the Flames, advanced to the championship with wins over Northshore, Puyallup, Lincoln, Maple Valley and Sherwood before beating Beaverton 7-3 for the title.
Tyler Johnston led Issaquah in the championship with three goals, two assists and two ground balls. Jordan Greenhall had one goal, two assists and four ground balls. McKay Berndt had two goals, two ground balls and Charlie Kurtenbach had one goal. Goalie Sam Britt allowed just 15 goals in five games, while the Silver scored a total of 58.
