Four area players took part in the East-West All-Star football game, featuring the best high school seniors in the state, in Everett on Saturday. Marion Bactol from Eastside Catholic High School, Dillon Reagan and Sean Stuby from Issaquah High School, and Grant Engel from Skyline High School were part of a West team which was narrowly defeated by East, 13-12. Central Valley High School quarterback Blake Bledsoe was the star with some clutch plays in the final minutes, hitting a 19-yard completion on a fourth-and-11 play, before scrambling his way into the end zone from 13 yards out with less than two minutes left on the clock. Skyline’s Engel, a nose-guard, was one of the West team captains. Receiver Jake Frauenholtz of Everett was named MVP for the West.
