SWIMMING Issaquah sinks Sammamish Issaquah won 11 of 12 swimming events Thursday afternoon, beating non-league Sammamish 125-48. Freshman Spencer McCulloh claimed two first-place finishes winning the 200 yard freestyle (2:04.83) and 100 freestyle (56.28). William Kim (200 IM), Willy Matsuda (50 freestyle), Brandon Pomeroy (diving), Austin Melody (100 fly), Gentry Gevers (100 backstroke) and Brian Ruggles (100 breaststroke) also earned individual victories. All three of the Eagles' relays teams also won. Eastlake downs rival Redmond Eastlake defeated rival Redmond Thursday night, 104-82. Zach Alleva claimed two individual victories in the 200 IM (2:26.18) and 100 back (1:02.28), and Kursoshe Mahak took the 500 free (5:48.39) and 100 breast (1:14.65). Henry O'Niel (200 free), Steven King (50 free), Chase Stites (diving) and Ryker Oldenburg (100 fly) also claimed individual events, while all three Eastlake relay teams won. WRESTLING Skyline splits double-dual Skyline used seven victories — four via pin — to beat Mount Si, 45-33 in a dual meet Thursday night. The Spartans lost their second match 46-26 to Liberty. Justin Manipis (103), Jo Tono (112), Jordan McCaslin (145) and Danny Christianson (152) all earned first-round pins against Mount Si. Collin Ehret (125) picked up a close 11-10 decision over Bruce Stuart, while Jerred Kiss (119) and Tyler White (130) earned forfeit victories. Kiss pinned Liberty's Michael Shaw in 36 seconds, while and McCaslin and Anthony DeMatteo (215) earned major decisions. Manipis and Christina Caldwell (125) earned forfeits. Issaquah wins one, loses one Issaquah recorded five pins Thursday en route to a 48-33 victory over Mount Si. The Eagles followed with a 41-30 loss to Liberty. John Mele (103) pinned his opponent in 18 seconds, while Jordan Tanner (135) also recorded a first-round pin in 1:51. Max Tickman (112), David White (140) and Brandon Pearson (145) also picked up victories via pin, while Tyler Volk (171) earned an 8-2 decision. Ty Morton (119), Andrew Ramirez (130), and Tanner earned pins against Liberty, which improved its record to 9-0.
