Crabb/Gibb win AVP Open men’s volleyball tournament

Doubles duo wins 2-0 (21-16, 21-19) in the finals.

The doubles team consisting of Taylor Crabb (Honolulu, Hawaii) and Jake Gibb (Bountiful, Utah) earned first place in the men’s AVP Seattle Beach Open volleyball championship match on June 25 at Lake Sammamish State Park in Issaquah. The duo of Crabb/Gibb, which were the No. 3 seed coming into the tourney, defeated the No. 1 seeded squad of Phil Dalhausser/Nick Lucena 2-0 (21-16, 21-19) in the finals.

“It’s a huge feat to play in the finals, especially against a team like Nick and Phil, who are one of the greats,” Gibb said in a press release. “It was a solid match and we tried to remain calm and be consistent throughout it.”
