The Eastside Catholic Crusaders put together an impressive 24-9 win against Ingraham on March 17. Eastside Catholic currently has an overall record of 1-1.

Eagles dominate West Seattle

The Issaquah Eagles rolled to a 12-2 win against West Seattle on March 17. Issaquah improved its overall record to 1-1.

Eastlake wins opener

The Eastlake Wolves cruised to a 14-2 victory against the Bellevue Wolverines on March 14. Eastlake has a current record of 1-0.

SOCCER

Ingraham wins nail-biter against Eastside Catholic

Ingraham registered a 1-0 win against the Eastside Catholic Crusaders on March 17. The Crusaders dropped to 1-1 overall.

A stalemate on the soccer field

The Bothell Cougars and Skyline Spartans battled to a 1-1 draw on March 17. Skyline has an overall record of 1-1-1.

Eastlake is undefeated in early season action

The Eastlake Wolves registered a 4-0 win against Woodinville on March 17. Eastlake improved to 2-0 with the win.

BASEBALL

Baseball clinic set for April

Steve Goucher, a former professional baseball player and Atlanta Braves scout, will conduct a baseball clinic from 10 a.m. to noon on April 13-14 at Hidden Valley Sports Park in Bellevue. For more information about the upcoming clinic, call Bellevue Parks and Community Services at 425-452-6885.

The Garfield Bulldogs earned a 12-5 win against the Issaquah Eagles on March 16.

Skyline captures first win of 2017 season

The Skyline Spartans nabbed a 6-3 win against the Peninsula Seahawks on March 16. Skyline has an overall record of 1-1.

Eastlake wins one-run game against Roosevelt

The Eastlake Wolves earned a 5-4 triumph against Roosevelt on March 18. Eastlake improved its overall record to 3-1.

Vikings shutout Crusaders

The Puyallup Vikings earned a 7-0 victory against the Eastside Catholic Crusaders in a non-league game on March 18. Eastside Catholic dropped to 2-1 with the loss.

GOLF

Bellevue women’s golf club accepting applications for 2017 season

The Bellevue 18-hole women’s golf club is currently accepting 2017 applications for women interested in playing competitive golf at the Bellevue Municipal Golf Course. Weekly play is held every Tuesday from March through the final Tuesday of October.                                 Eastside Catholic Crusaders junior volleyball player Renee DePencier-Piñero was named the October female athlete of the month for the second annual MaxPreps High School Athlete of the Month award, which was presented by the United States Marine Corps on Nov. 8.
                                “MaxPreps congratulates Renee DePencier-Piñero on being named high school athlete of the month,” MaxPreps Founder/President Andy Beal said in a press release. “High school sports are designed to build character and foster teamwork and a competitive spirit in our nation’s young people. The MaxPreps High School Athlete of the Month represents those outstanding qualities that make not just great athletes, but more importantly fine citizens. MaxPreps is proud to honor these fine student-athletes in collaboration with the United States Marine Corps.”

Eastside Catholic had an overall record of 2-2 at the state tourney, registering victories against Timberline and Ferndale. The Crusaders lost to Capital in the Class 3A semifinals and Mount Spokane in the third/fourth place contest. Eastside Catholic finished the 2017 season with an overall record of 19-6.
