A Swedish hello to Issaquah: hospital plans, groundbreaking

Published 12:12 pm Thursday, September 24, 2009

Representatives from Swedish Medical Center and elected officials — including Governor Christine Gregoire — will be visiting Issaquah over the next few weeks to introduce the community to the city’s first full-service hospital.

Residents are invited to a 90-minute Q & A information session on Tuesday, Sept. 29 from 5-6:30 p.m. about the new Swedish Medical Center being built in the Issaquah Highlands.

The meeting will take place at Issaquah City Hall South (135 E. Sunset Way, Issaquah).

Swedish representatives will be available to talk about – and answer any questions related to – the construction that’s already under way on the five-story medical office building and outpatient center slated to open in 2011, as well as the 175-bed hospital slated to open the following year.

Then on the morning of Oct. 12, from 10:30 to 11:30 am, approximately 300 to 400 guests are expected to attend a groundbreaking event at the site, located at 401 N.E. Blakely Drive.

In addition to Gov. Gregoire, several other elected officials are expected to attend, including Issaquah City Council members and Mayor Ava Frisinger.

No RSVP needed to attend. For more information, visit www.swedish.org/issaquah
